Regardless of whether we are in Tokyo, Nairobi, Malmö or New York, routines roll on: someone buys bread, someone waits for the bus, someone else just looks up at the sky. But what these moments look like – the urban landscape, the movements of people, the feeling in the air – varies greatly between different countries and cultures.

Today, many cultures live side by side – for better or worse – and Street Scene wants to document, protect and celebrate this diversity. We believe in the strength of the free image and the power of the word. By understanding each other’s everyday life, we create bridges between people.
