Malmöfestivalen 2023 is certifed as a sustainable event.The Malmö Festival has worked actively with sustainability issues for many years. Now this year's festival has been certified as a sustainable event by Greentime.The certification covers all parts of the sustainability area and is a modern seal of quality.
It is very nice that we have received Greentime's certification. It is proof that the work the festival has carried out in sustainability and the environment since 2009 has been worth all the effort, say Helena Cedrins and Peter Lind, project managers for the Malmö festival.
Greentime supports the event industry in Sweden to change to a sustainable future with the UN's global goals for sustainable development as a starting point. This by helping organizers to develop their sustainability work with competence-enhancing initiatives such as workshops and seminars.
The Malmö Festival has been reviewed based on three dimensions of sustainability; environmental, social and economic. The review has been done in a tool with a variety of questions that the festival has had to answer.
Malmöfestival's sustainability work has already been awarded with "A Greener Festival Award" and "Environmentally marked event - Keep Sweden Clean" for several years.
